Reviews
Beautiful book - biographically insightful. The book is divided by sculptural themes as are the photos. If you want some excellent full page photos of his sculptures, this is the book to buy. "Nearly all of the reproductions *(photos) of Rodin's work in the book were drawn *(as in pulled) from the photo library of the Musée Rodin in Paris." I bought two. One for reference (I'm a docent at a local art museum) and the other to take apart. I plan to frame four of of the photos. Both of books were used / like new and under $7.00. They were in perfect shape. *My commentsTable of contents: Introduction 1. The Burghers of Calais 2. Forty years of oblivion 3. The Gates of Hell 4. The Gates, a reservoir of forms 5. The sculptor of woman and love 6. Sculptures in public places 7. Rodin's modernity 8. The Hand of God, or the artist's hand --- Biography, Bibliography and Exhibitions, Photo credits.
