About the Author John McEwen, art critic for the Sunday Telegraph, writes extensively on twentieth century art for many journals and publications. As art critic for the Spectator during the early 1980s, he was among the most enthusiastic champions of Paula Rego's first solo exhibitions in England. He has remained a close friend and confidante of the artist ever since. His books include Phaidon's successful monograph Paula Rego. He lives in London. Read more
